Would layers cut to shoulder length work for very thick hair..?

I am chinese, my hair is super thick, and very straight. It is a few inches below my shoulders right now. I want choppy layers and shorter hair. Will it not work for thick hair? I think it would make it even thicker bleh. Oh and does anyone have any pictures of short layered hair cuts?

My friend is cantonese and she had hair similar to how you described. She had it cut into very choppy, spikey layers and it actually thinned it out, especially at the bottom. I suggest leaving the length and having layers upto just a few inches down from your parting, and a side parting always looks nice in thicker hair. You can sort of "fluff" or spike the layers up at the top then. It took me a while but I found a picture of what I'm on about on google!

Of course! I have thick hair, and I have layers up to my shoulders. It actually works a lot better. If you have thin hair, it doesn't look as good. Plus, having layers with thick hair makes your hair have more volume, and not ordinary. I highly reccomend it, and get it layered short at the front and then get it gradually longer. It'll look cute, i promise. =]

I'm Asian, have super thick hair, and my hair has choppy layers. And its up to my chin. :] It'll work for sure. :]

Personally, I prefer long hair. But if you get layers, get your hair thinned out so it wont be too poofy. Lol.
