I am wanting to have my hair cut shorter (but not extremely short) and am wanting to get like some push over bangs but i am nervous about it and don't have an exact idea so if u could give some pics. or advice that would help. TY!

absolutely nothing!! the best thing now is just to leave your hair to grow, whatever you do, they have to cut some more, so if you are serious and want it long then just leave it for about 3 months, and then go for a trim.

when you want to grow your hair the best thing is just to grow it, and condition it.do not cut it,.

i would invest in some really nice shampoo and conditioner for the money of one haircut.

i would go to someone else...call and complain, talk to the owner or manager or someone above her...and go somewhere else...find a friend who reccomends someone...but from now on just ask for trims tell the person your trying to grow it out and make sure they show you how much they plan on taking off and watch them while they do it...i'm sorry that happened to you...i've had that happen to some clients i've gotten and its so hard for them to trust a stylist again...but with those people i try to take as little as possible off so they don't freak out...if you lived in Michigan i would say come to me next time you need a haircut and i would be happy to help!!

First of all do not just let it grow. You should always keep getting it trimed. Just let your hair dresser know!

~~ If it was just the layers that were too short, have him/her graze the layers when they get dry and start to split and trim length 1/2 inch to 1 inch every 6-8 weeks.

~~If it is all over too short you need to keep the neck line short as the rest grows down to meet it or you will get a mullet. GOD FORBID! You should still graze trim layers. You will need to trim at least neck line every 3-4 weeks.

~~Good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle make hair grow fast. Vitamins help. Summer hair grows faster so the weather is working agianst you. Scalp massage or brushing with a cushion brush will stimulate blood circulation and oil secretion. This creates an ideal scalp environment for optimal hair growth and healthy hair!

that's a really cute cut. in my experience, some hair just won't cooperate, like my own. if you could find a site with hair advice or a hotline or just call up a salon and ask them to recommend the right products. maybe a texturizing cream. actually i have no idea. my hair never does what i want. when it's cut short like that, it flips out in every direction. maybe a flat iron and some mousse? ahh i don't know. good luck.

Hmm... Well it all kind of depends on what is wrong with your hair for what product to use... Garnier Frutis is my favorite. They have all sorts of stuff. BUt if its that awful maybe try getting it cut again not too much short just to fix it. with someone else. I straighten my hair which will give it style if i flip it out and take time on it and such.. Dont worry about it try some diffenet things. I know what you are going through.

where are you located? In prison? Why cant you go to a salon? Just go to a cheap normal beauty hair salon,,,,and ask for a basic bang cut with layers all around. It will save the haircut you cut yourself and it look better. Just do it. Forget the Kristen Cavallari's cut. Its complicated and you want something pretty but easy to style. THen get some gel, a blow dryer, and style to the left or right, or in the middle and when it grows out it will look good too! (ask for a shag) in the salon. Any Beautician can cut this basic style. I'm a hair stylist and I tell my customers that if they see anything they don't like within a day or two, I will redo it for free....doesn't happen often ; - ) . She should offer to fix it for no charge. I'm assuming that although noticible, it must not be horrific, since you left the salon without telling some people off. Go back and very politely ask for the manager and tell him/her what happened. If he/she asks why you didn't say anything when you were there the first time tell them that you couldn't notice how bad a cut it was till you washed it and styled it at home. You said it is shoulder length.....You can put it into wavy tendrils, but not too much hairspray or stiff curls more like flowy waves. Curl the tips a bit and put some wax or pomade throughout to make it piecey. I like the second suggestion because this I think would look really sexy....well I like it when my hairstylist puts some in my hair....or you can always make it stick straight with some volume around the crown....

you can blow-dry the ends out and get a cute rocker-type look. i think that i have the same type of hair length as you, so i usually experiment with a curling iron or a hair straightener. you can do some spiral curls on some of your strands and that'll look good. or you can go for curls all over, or completely straighten your hair stick-straight (that will actually make your hair look longer) and it'll look more glamorous.

ok, i have blondish brown hair. it is about 4 inches past my shoulders, maybe 6ish.i have it layered. in the front it is angled but the layd messed up and angeled one side the wrong way. my bangs don't look like the one on my pic. they are parted down the middle, and are about as long as to where my nose is. i want a new idea for a hair cut. my hair si thick and some what straight (if i blow dry it part way) please don't suggest i get my hair cut short. the truth is i think it is too short now. so can you help me with some ideas?

as a professional, without actually seeing you i will give you the best advice that you can possibly get over the net. one..you are the one who ultimately decides the finish of your cut, you are the one who hhas to live with it and love it and style it on a day to day basis, so everyone elses opinion doesn't matter because like i said it's hard to give advice without seein you in the real and holding a continuous conversation and consultation. two....type in virtual make overs on your search bar and visit some of the sites. there you can upload a photo of yourself and choose styles colors and make up. its a great tool. when you find something you like print it out and take it to your stylist, a pic says more than word ever can to a stylist, we are visual people. hope this helps you

I would say since its already layered and tapered in the front and you don't want it any shorter, the best option seems like just a new style is what you need. Since you part it down the middle now, why not try down the side with your bangs across your forehead similar to the ones in your pic.

I think that short hair dogs pant a lot less than long hair dogs on hot days. Is this PROOF that you should shave or cut your dog's hair in the summer to keep him comfortable? I think its pretty "clear cut" if you ask me!

You're on a real roll about this shaving thing, aren't you? I've always associated shaved dogs with dogs who's owners didn't feel any particular urge to groom. Sorry, I've just seen too many of those poor critters all matted up and looking mighty miserable, and yep I bet a shave feels pretty darn good to them. But with you it's just a question of if they get hot in the summer? You sure are insistent about it, so go ahead and shave away.

I'd never shave my dog though. If I like a breed, I like the breed. I've even had Collies, one was a tri (mostly black) and he did get hot during the day, but he didn't suffer any more than my short hair that has a black coat. Hmm..maybe we should shave all the dogs with black color coats too?

BTW my Collies died of old age, not heat strokes lol :) I just used a little common sense to make sure they never got over heated

P.S. I have no idea which pants more. I doubt anyone really ever really took an accurate measurement to compare...anyone know?

Short hair, or not?

I have shoulder-length hair (layered) now. My hair wavy-ish, kinda curly, and I have to straighten it to get the look I want. However, if I get a pixie cut (a la Sienna Miller, Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman) I won't ever have to use styling products again :) But since I'm young, the girls at school will be like "Eww ur hair is so short!!" So my question is... to cut, or not to cut?

I would not do it!! Not only is this very tomboyish... if your hair is wavyish- cutting it will probably make it more wavy and it will be so hard to do anything with it being so short!

NO~those waves are going to curl up if you cut it that short and you are going to spend all your time straightening it....I speak from personal experience...with wavy hair-especially if it has volume-it is just as much work, if not more to keep it short.

And by the way, don't do anything for the kids at school. It is a bad habit to get into.

My hair is the same kind as yours when I cuted it I was sceared that it would be hard to use it because it would be curlier but believe me I was wrong it was the best thing I've ever done!!! Everybody liked it! Even the girlygirls!! I'm not lieing!! I was surprised and not at the same time! Girl it was gorgeus!! but you decide! Oh and it actualy was easier to treat it!

i think it depends on the salon and/or stylist. I went to the salon a couple months ago and asked the girl to cut my hair and she actually refused and told me my hair was too nice to cut short so i had to go somewhere else and cut it

I currently have long hair that is about an inch below where my bra is in the back. I've always loved long hair but it has never been this long. My hair looks like Jennifer Aniston's with the long layers only in front to sides. Downside is it gets dead ends b/c I have wavy hair and I have to straighten it. So any longer will just be unhealthy on my hair anyway.

Well I used to have my SUPER long. Probably even longer than yours. Then one day I decided to take risk. I cut my long hair to shoulder length. At first I was crying my eyes out because I missed my long hair (this was during the summer). Then after like 3 months or so my mom asked me if I wanted layers since before it was even all the way around. I got layers and I LOVED IT! Everyone says my hair looks better the way it is now. Remember less is more sometimes :). And yes the style you want to persue will work. Take a risk remember its only hair it'll grow back. And well I understand why people want long hair in the winter and shorter hair in the summer. But it doesn't really matter to me. I LOVE MY HAIR NOW!

its been long for about 2 years and im kinda sick of it but last time i got it short i was in 4th grade ( i know, young)

that's a really cute cut. in my experience, some hair just won't cooperate, like my own. if you could find a site with hair advice or a hotline or just call up a salon and ask them to recommend the right products. maybe a texturizing cream. actually i have no idea. my hair never does what i want. when it's cut short like that, it flips out in every direction. maybe a flat iron and some mousse? ahh i don't know. good luck.

Hmm... Well it all kind of depends on what is wrong with your hair for what product to use... Garnier Frutis is my favorite. They have all sorts of stuff. BUt if its that awful maybe try getting it cut again not too much short just to fix it. with someone else. I straighten my hair which will give it style if i flip it out and take time on it and such.. Dont worry about it try some diffenet things. I know what you are going through.

where are you located? In prison? Why cant you go to a salon? Just go to a cheap normal beauty hair salon,,,,and ask for a basic bang cut with layers all around. It will save the haircut you cut yourself and it look better. Just do it. Forget the Kristen Cavallari's cut. Its complicated and you want something pretty but easy to style. THen get some gel, a blow dryer, and style to the left or right, or in the middle and when it grows out it will look good too! (ask for a shag) in the salon. Any Beautician can cut this basic style. As long as the person doing your hair can braid yours. I just recently had weave sewn in. It wasn't for me, but I wish you the best of luck. Also, make sure the person has sewn in weave before. DON'T let him/her experiment in your hair. Hope you like it!

as long as your hair is long enough to braid, you can get a sewn in weave. i do think you have to be aware of the length so it will not weight down and pull or damage your real hair. good luck.

My stylist cut mine off after a relaxer/color disaster. This was almost a year ago. I get SO many compliments on it, not just from friends but strangers as well (mainly men).

I am in the gym a lot and I run 3-4 days a week. Short hair could not be better for these activities!

For the weeks when I cannot make it to the hairdresser, I simply gel it all back, and spike it up in the middle.

No rollers, no irons, no spray or gel...just tie it up, go to sleep, wake up, untie it and GO! Excellent choice for a busy lifestyle.

I have really thick hair. It's shoulder length, and I want to get it cut, but no shorter than my chin. I want to get it thinned out too, because it's just really shapeless and when I put it in a ponytail, it doesn't look cute because I just have too much hair, haha.

I'm a Caucasian guy over 35. I like just a small, trimmed patch (triangle or stripe) above the slit, with the remaining areas neatly shaved and smooth (preferably without razor burns or zits).

On the other hand, if I had to choose between totally smooth or jungle tangle, I would prefer the smooth.

36, white male. I hate it shaved. Primary reasons are

a. the coarse stubble that results when it grows back. Very abrasive on the face when giving oral.

b. the woman would have to shave every day to keep the stubble away, and shave very well. Most women that shave daily get lazy and do not get all spots. The eroticism wears off quickly anyway, even if you shave it everyday.

c. each time you shave, your hair will grow back faster, thicker, and coarser than before (just like a man's beard).

d. unless your vagina is pristine, shaving reveals all flaws (ex: overweight, pimples, marks).

I hate a jungle, so trimming is fine, but remember your hair is there for a reason.

They have to cut their hair. If you're going to bootcamp sometime in the near future, I would suggest getting your hair cut before you go and get it cut short enough to where it's not touching your collar so they don't touch it, trust me you don't want them to cut it for you.

honestly I was a Air Force recruit in TX, so I do recommend cutting your hair at least 1 inch above the shoulders, it will be easy to Maintain and take care of , there won't be much time to take proper care of of your hair. the female Training Instrcutor's had taught us how to french braid our hair. remember it is standard through out the military no hair out of place it must not touch the collar of the uniform.

Also look for hair tries that match your hair color.
