I really think the best style is to wear it as you have it now. Since you're going to be in the water, you actually have one of the easiest styles to maintain - short. It will just go straight down on your head, so I'd stick with that instead of worrying about a weave getting tangled, looking bad, etc.

Get some hair weaved in to some braids and you'll be good to go.

Go with a sew in, it lasts for a month. Even if you don't have enough hair for braids you can still get a sew in and you can swim with it and let it air dry, I do it all the time.
