My hair is a big worry of mine!?

I just got kind of a short hair cut but not to short, but anywasy i want to put waves in my hair but i dont want it to look to curly or to limpy also, My hair is naturally curly how can i leav emy hair out but at the same time make it look nice . I really really need help!!!!

Put some styling gel on it when it is wet and style with your fingers then let it dry
