How long does it take to grow (at least) 6 inches of hair?

i brush my hair, i wash my hair every day, and basically take really good care with it. How long do you think it would take me to grow 6 inches? right now where i live its usually kinda cold, i dont know if that has anything to do with hair growth but i got a really short hair cut and i really want my long hair back (by january) so i can put it up in a pony tail for lacrosse
