Do mom's cut their hair short so it doesn't get pulled out by their kids?

I think everyone has their own reasons for their chosen hairstyle. I don't think mama's cut their hair to prevent kids from pulling it out - well, at least they shouldn't because it doesn't matter how short it is, if the little babe can get his/her hads on it, he'll/she'll wanna give it a tug!

I've always had long hair and ended up cutting mine late in my pregnancy because grey hair was starting to show and I had made the decision not to dye my hair while pregnant (I had to wear my hair pulled back for work which exposed those nasty greys....short hair kept them hidden!) I thought it was going to be easier to manage anyways but it has been horrible. I have wavy, crazy hair that needs to be blown dry and who has the time for that! I'm growing it and can now fit it all up in a pony tail. If you have long hair and you don't want to cut it, wearing it up is a quick option which will also keep it a little more out of pulling range.....but wait for it!

no mom buys a 12 gauge for that.

haha or it could be that when a woman becomes a mother, she doesn't have the time to style her hair so she picks something that is easy.

Some do, but mostly women cut their hair after they have children because it's easier (according to them) to deal with short hair (it takes less effort and time).

So every mother you have met has short hair? My hair happens to be short because I like it that way.I do have four small children, however, so maybe you have a point.

nope i have long hair and 2 small kids and my hair doesn't get pulled because i teach my kids not to pull hair. so really if the mum's were doing things right they wouldn't have to cut it for that reason. But i do know some mum's that just like it that way so i suppose nobody can really tell you an exact answer because not every mother does it

not me :) I have two boys under two and really long hair! I find it takes less time to pull my hair back than it does to style/dry short hair. And if it's pulled back...it's not easy to pull either!

no, who told you that?

My hair is waist length and my children do not pull it. That gives a good time for teaching "no, no" to an infant. I do wear it back or up, but I also wear it down. Having the children hasn't changed how I wear it.

Some do. I have long hair and my kids like to pull it sometimes. It's annoying, but I don't want to cut it because I love having my hair long.

you don't have to cut your hair. You teach them NOT to pull it. I have had really long hair since I gave birth. They have to adapt to the world around them. We can't fix everything. So if you like your long hair then just work around it. I did just fine and now my daughter is 2 %26amp; she doesn't pull my hair.

i think they just don't want to deal with it. it's easier just to cut it off.

Not really- kids will still go after earrings if they can't get hair....it's more a time-saver thing. Just too much to do and not enough time, and if I don't have to deal with my hair on top of that, fine. (hey - I didn't know that rhymed!)

I wondered this myself....I didn't want to become "the short-haired mom" when I had my daughter, and luckily I'm not nor would I. Short hair looks disgusting on me.
