Can you pull off scene hair if your hair is short?

For a long time I've wanted scene hair... (i was an idiot bcuz i cut i short) and now my hair is about 1.5 inches or two below my shoulders. And i was wondering if there was a way to do scene hair.... but without and i'm gonna say it again WITHOUT using extensions... or waiting for it to grow out.
